La Pastoral Social de Girardota es la acción social y caritativa de la Iglesia Católica en el territorio de la Diócesis de Girardota la cual, a través de distintos programas, se encarga de transformar de manera integral, a la luz del Evangelio y con la enseñanza de la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia a las comunidades más necesitadas.

AGREEMENT 2023-2024
This year, we have been supporting a group of nine families who are part of the Girardota Social Pastoral program and who are located in the municipalities of San Roque, Santo Domingo, Caracolí, Yolombó, Barbosa, and Girardota.
After characterizing and prioritizing the needs of their homes, the improvement of various spaces was approved to make them more suitable and thus allow them to live in a safe environment.
The first installment of the 2023 agreement with La Pastoral Social de Girardo corresponds to an improvement in the home of Mr. Jesús Antonio Tabares Betancur in the municipality of Barbosa.
In this home, we completely replaced the roof, installing a modern, safe covering for habitability.
The Tabares family had a dream of improving their conditions, and thanks to their alliance and perseverance, today it is a reality.

In the El Rubí district, municipality of Yolombó , we delivered the housing improvements to the Alzate Alzate family: Don Juan de Jesús and Débora , two siblings with a great sense of belonging and love for their community.
The areas of the home that were renovated were the roof and the kitchen. This house will remain as a family legacy for future generations.

On this occasion, we were able to have support from the community of San José del Nare , in San Roque , who contributed with the labor to complete the home for Edilma and her family.
Our contribution focused on plastering walls, flooring, and installing windows. This is the result of the collaborative work and unity of institutions that pursue the same goal: adequate housing and families with a better quality of life.

This is the result of the support provided to the Osorio Monsalve family, residents of the Cubiletes neighborhood of Santo Domingo. With the help of the Social Pastoral and the support of the community, we were able to improve various areas of their home.
We also shared a space where we celebrated the completion of the project. We are confident that Sandra and her family now enjoy a better home.

Doña Liliana's home is a family legacy that has been carefully cared for by her, her husband, and her children over the years. After so much time, the group of farmers from the municipality of Santo Domingo joined together to nominate her to improve the roof of their home, recognizing the importance of preserving this legacy.
Today, with this improvement, we can ensure that this family legacy endures even longer and continues to be a safe and welcoming home for your family.

Doña Clara's life has been very moving; after leaving her hometown, she settled in the La Quebradona neighborhood, located in Caracolí . There, she faced many challenges in securing a place to call her own. However, until last year, her home didn't offer the most suitable conditions for a decent life.
Thanks to the generosity of the Caminar Campesino group and their continued support, along with our partnership, we were able to provide Doña Clara with a home that meets safer and more adequate conditions. This act represents a physical improvement to her home and an emotional support that recognizes her struggle and strength in the face of adversity.

Brayan and Estefanía, a determined young couple, had always dreamed of building their own home in the Guacas Abajo neighborhood, located in the Cristales district of San Roque . However, various circumstances led them to postpone this dream for a long time.
Despite facing various obstacles, their perseverance and dedication paid off thanks to our partnership. With this improvement, they begin a new stage in their lives, where they will be able to achieve many more dreams together.

During the implementation of the 2022 agreement, we benefited 10 families from the municipalities of San Roque, Santo Domingo, Caracolí, Yolombó, Barbosa, and Girardota.
With our support, we were able to impact the lives of several rural families by restoring their homes to adequate conditions.
